US Embassy Employees in Havana Have Hearing Problems After Possible ‘Acoustic Attack,’ Says ‘CNN’!

Several employees at the US embassy in Havana, Cuba were flown back to the US for hearing treatment after a possible “acoustic attack” with a sonic device, according to an article on CNN.

According to the article, one US diplomat may now need to use a hearing aid after exposure to what US officials say may have been “sophisticated” sonic devices planted near the diplomats’ Havana residences. No further details are available, such as who may have planted the devices nor exactly where they were placed.

The employees have had physical symptoms resembling concussions since late 2016, according to CNN.

CNN also listed several nonlethal, sound devices that have, in the past, been used as weapons, particularly for crowd control or to protect areas of attack.
