Phonak, a global provider of hearing instruments and wireless communication solutions, demonstrated the very exciting and technologically advanced Audéo B-Direct product to reporters at an event in New York City yesterday. The event marks the first time that members of the New York-area consumer media were able to experience the benefits of the outstanding advancements of the Audéo B-Direct in person, according to Phonak. Some of the exciting technological breakthroughs and new conveniences of “Made-for-All technology” include the following:

    • Built-in artificial intelligence from AutoSense OS, Phonak’s automatic operating system, which is designed to guide the signal processing to help offer the best hearing performance in any environment, according to Phonak.
    • Made-for-All (MFA) technology, which utilizes Sonova’s recently announced SWORD chip, and is designed to provide universal connectivity to any Bluetooth phone, including the reportedly first-ever technology to connect to the vast Android market as well as the classic flip-phone community.
    • Hands-free calling with automatic voice detection, allowing wearers to have hands-free conversations through their hearing aids without needing to hold up their phone to their mouths.
    • TV streaming, thanks to AirStream Technology, a Plug and Play solution that plugs into the back of TVs and streams high-fidelity audio, in stereo, to both ears, according to Phonak.

“We are so excited to demonstrate the features and benefits of true Made-for-All technology to top members of the consumer press,” said Barb VanSomeren, vice president of marketing, Phonak US. “The excitement and interest we’ve received since the launch of Audéo B-Direct last month has been unprecedented. This is a wonderful opportunity for members of the media to experience first hand just why this product is being so well-received by our valued customers and their patients.”

The event, “The Holiday Spectacular! East” was held yesterday at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City and was only open to registered members of the press. Christine Jones, director of the Phonak Audiology Research Center (PARC), and fellow Clinical Research Manager Lori Rakita were on-hand from Phonak to demonstrate the product and answer questions.
