A British woman has strapped a “stuffed” dog to herself and jumped out of a perfectly functioning plane.

Cerez Doyle, office manager at Devon Hearing Care, took up the challenge of completing a skydive in aid of “Hearing Dogs for Deaf People”.Working at Devon Hearing Care, Cerez says she sees first-hand how much hearing dogs help those with hearing impairments.

“It is amazing the things they can do”, she explained, “they alert people to dangers, fire alarms, doorbells, traffic and things, but they are also great companions and encourage people to get out and about.

“My love of dogs and that I work at Devon Hearing Care has taught me the trials of profound hearing loss, and is the reason why “Hearing Dogs For Deaf People” is a charity very close to my heart.”

Talking about the skydive itself, which she completed with a stuffed “Digby the Dog” duct-taped to her, she said:

“It was an incredible experience and really quite unreal. I would recommend everyone to get a DVD done so that they can re-live every moment of it as everything happens so quick and before you know it your back on the ground.

“At the beginning its very fast and very loud, and you’re above the clouds and then suddenly you’re underneath them, but when they pull the parachute, everything slows down and becomes really quiet.”

“Would I do it again????? YES I definitely would, and sooner rather than later.”

Cerez would like to thank “family, friends, colleagues, old school friends, and people I’ve never met” who donated to her cause.
